Taliban arrest 84 Afghan citizens, including women and children, in Farah

According to a statement from this corps released on Sunday, October 11 [19 Mizan], these individuals were apprehended in the Pushmak area of the Lash Juwayn district. Among the detainees are women and children.

The statement indicates that these citizens intended to cross into Iranian territory from Afghanistan's border areas through smuggling routes. According to this entity, the detained individuals have been handed over to relevant authorities.

In recent years, a large number of Afghan citizens, driven by poverty, unemployment, and economic hardships, have attempted to reach Iran via unofficial and highly dangerous routes.

Two days ago, the Taliban also reported the detention of at least 19 Afghan citizens, including women and children, on charges of attempting to cross into Iran in the border region of Herat.

The media office of the 207th Farooq Corps of the Taliban has announced that 84 Afghan citizens were detained in Farah Province while attempting to enter Iran via unauthorized routes.
