Asim Munir calls on Taliban to eliminate centers of "terrorist groups" in Afghanistan

The Pakistan Army Chief, speaking in Rawalpindi, stated that Islamabad only expects the Taliban to cleanse Afghanistan of armed groups, particularly the "Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan" and the "Baloch Liberation Army," and to guarantee the complete destruction of these groups' infrastructure.


He also accused India of supporting terrorism and said that New Delhi, after failing in last year's war, has once again resorted to a policy of "backing terrorism." According to him, security threats against Pakistan are not limited to India and continue from Afghan soil as well.


Referring to last year's conflict between India and Pakistan, Asim Munir said that New Delhi had sought to test Pakistan's "national resolve and dignity"; but it faced a harsh response from Islamabad. He warned that any future action against Pakistan could lead to "extensive, dangerous, and painful" consequences.


The Pakistan Army Chief emphasized that the country's defensive capabilities against any foreign attack are "impenetrable" and that the armed forces of Pakistan are fully prepared to counter both conventional and unconventional warfare. He also announced the establishment of a "Multi-Domain Operations Center" and said this center has been launched to enhance readiness against future challenges.


In conclusion, he added that countries which had previously criticized Pakistan now acknowledge the nation's military and security capabilities and have become close partners of Islamabad.

Asim Munir, Chief of the Pakistan Army, in a speech marking the first anniversary of the four-day war between Pakistan and India, once again accused the Taliban of continuing to harbor security threats against Pakistan from Afghan soil. He urged the Taliban regime to dismantle the bases of terrorist groups in Afghanistan and prevent their activities.
