Murder of a 32-year-old woman in Ghor; Her husband accused of torturing and murdering her

According to the sources, Noriah, on September 20, following a verbal altercation with her mother-in-law, was subjected to severe violence by her husband and succumbed to injuries from the beating. The sources claim that during this incident, her body was also burned with a hot iron rod.


Noriah was originally a resident of the village of "Khawaja" in the Pasaband district of Ghor and had been married for about 10 years. She was the mother of four children, including three daughters and one son. According to the sources, her husband had recently returned from Iran to Afghanistan, and this violence occurred in front of the family's young children.


Local sources say that Noriah's body remained in the house for about a day after her death, and her children were present at the same location during that time. According to them, Noriah's husband, the following day after performing prayers at the village mosque, confessed to the murder and surrendered himself to Taliban forces.


This incident is reported at a time when violence against women continues to be considered one of the major human rights concerns in Afghanistan. However, to date, no independent details have been released by official sources regarding the handling of the case, the status of the accused, or the judicial response to this event.
