Indian rocket attack on Pakistan; Pakistan Army: Eight killed, 33 wounded

According to the spokesperson of the Pakistani military, as a result of these attacks, eight civilians, including children and women, lost their lives, and more than 30 others were injured.

The Indian military confirmed that these attacks were in response to recent militant operations in Indian-administered Kashmir and targeted military installations in Pakistan; however, Pakistani authorities have denied any involvement in the attack on Pehalgam, Kashmir.

According to reports, eyewitnesses in areas near the Kashmir border said that several massive explosions were heard around midnight, after which the power supply in Muzaffarabad was cut off.

The Pakistani military stated that the attacks targeted six different locations, with more than 24 rockets fired at civilian targets.

Shehbaz Sharif, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, in response to the attack, said that his country’s military is ready to respond decisively and described the attack as “cowardly.” Meanwhile, the Pakistani military reported the downing of two Indian fighter jets and one drone, claiming retaliatory strikes on several Indian military positions.

Tensions between the two countries have escalated, and it remains unclear which direction this conflict will take.

Following recent tensions between New Delhi and Islamabad, the Pakistani military announced that India attacked several locations inside its territory with rockets last night.
