In the statement of this front, it is stated that the Taliban regime, through its practices of gender apartheid, systematic oppression, and widespread violations of human rights, is not only incapable of reform but also unworthy of any form of engagement or recognition.
This front urged the United Nations to abandon its “Taliban-centric” approach and prioritize dialogue with political parties, ethnic groups, civil society organizations, and Afghan women. It also emphasized that normalizing relations with the Taliban is in complete contradiction with the UN Charter and international human rights instruments, particularly the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women.
The meeting of the Doha process working groups is scheduled to take place on June 29 and 30 in Qatar, with the participation of the Taliban, representatives of experts UN experts, representatives of countries, and international financial institutions.
The Afghanistan Freedom Front, expressing concern about the fourth UN meeting in Doha, warned that one-sided talks with the Taliban, without the participation of genuine representatives of the people, will lead to unintended legitimization of this group.
