May 27 and 28; Taliban: Sharia system has been established in Afghanistan

Zabihullah Mujahid, the Taliban spokesperson, today (Sunday, 7th of Saur) published this statement on his account on X.
In the statement, the Taliban strongly condemned the coup of the 7th of Saur 1357 (1978), which led to the fall of Mohammad Daoud Khan's government and the rise of the communist regime. The Taliban described the 8th of Saur, the anniversary of the fall of the communist government, as a day of "historical freedom and a great divine blessing" and called for gratitude for this blessing.
The coup of the 7th of Saur was carried out by the People's Democratic Party of Afghanistan, which paved the way for the military invasion by the former Soviet Union. After years of war, on the 8th of Saur 1371 (1992), the Mujahideen government was established in Kabul, replacing the communist regime.
In the conclusion of their statement, the Taliban emphasized that now is the time to strongly protect the Sharia-based system and to make greater efforts for the stability and full implementation of Islamic Sharia in the country.
The Taliban, on Sunday, issued a statement on the occasion of the 7th and 8th of Saur, stating that the group has achieved its goals of "restoring the homeland's independence, bringing unity, eliminating chaos, and implementing a Sharia-based system."
