Amnesty International calls for an end to US attacks on the high seas

This human rights organization has stated that such strikes are illegal, inhumane, and dangerous under international humanitarian law, and the use of lethal force in such circumstances has no justification.

Amnesty International has warned that if the U.S. government can unilaterally decide to bomb anyone it labels a "terrorist" at any place and time, this action would set a horrifying precedent on a global scale. No government should have the power to kill without accountability and responsibility.

According to this organization, U.S. operations in the Caribbean Sea and Pacific Ocean to date have killed more than 80 people and targeted more than 20 boats.

Amnesty International, in a statement, called on the United States Congress to immediately halt the repeated U.S. military airstrikes against unidentified boats in international waters.
