Trump: War with Iran will end soon

These remarks come as Iran has announced that the U.S. proposal to end the war is "still under review."


A U.S. media outlet has reported that the White House believes the two sides may be close to a 14-point memorandum of understanding; an agreement that could provide a framework for broader nuclear negotiations.


A senior member of Iran's parliament has described the plan as a "wish list." Meanwhile, the spokesperson for Iran's Foreign Ministry has said that Tehran will share its views on the U.S. proposal through its partner mediators in Pakistan.


Pakistan's Foreign Minister has also stated that his country "is working to turn this ceasefire into a permanent end to the war." According to reports, this memorandum is a one-page document containing 14 clauses that could serve as a foundation for broader nuclear negotiations. Among the items mentioned in this document are the suspension of Iran's nuclear enrichment, the lifting of sanctions, and the restoration of freedom of navigation for ships in the Strait of Hormuz.


Reuters news agency has also reported that two sources familiar with the mediation process between the United States and Iran have confirmed the published information; however, this proposal has not yet been publicly released.


Trump had previously stated that the United States had "very good talks with Iran" in the past 24 hours and that an agreement is possible. At the same time, he emphasized that any economic pressure on the American people, including rising fuel prices, would be temporary.

Donald Trump, President of the United States, has stated that he believes the war with Iran "will end soon" and added that most people understand his goal of ending Tehran's nuclear ambitions.
