Trump: I stopped the attack on Iran at the request of Tehran and regional countries

He stated that this decision is conditional on swiftly reaching an agreement that guarantees the immediate, complete, and unconditional reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and an end to Iran's nuclear threat.

In a message posted on the Truth Social social network, Trump wrote that the United States is in a state of readiness, capability, and military power that, according to him, is unprecedented since World War II. Nevertheless, he added that officials of the Islamic Republic and other Middle Eastern countries have asked Washington to refrain from carrying out the attack, as they have reached an understanding on the framework of an agreement.

The U.S. President emphasized that the goal of this agreement is the immediate and unconditional reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, as well as putting an end to the nuclear threat from Tehran.

He added that, in order to safeguard the future interests of the world and to create the conditions for a successful and prosperous Iran to emerge, he has agreed to cancel this attack; however, this decision depends on swiftly reaching a final agreement.

Trump concluded by saying that Israel is also aligned with him in this commitment and urged the involved parties to bring the process of finalizing this agreement to a conclusion as soon as possible.

Donald Trump, President of the United States, announced that, following a request from the Islamic Republic and a number of regional countries, he has agreed to halt the planned attack against Iran.
