Meanwhile, the Afghanistan Media Support Organization (AMSO) has confirmed Ghafoori's arrest in a statement and said that no clear legal document or judicial order for this detention has been provided to date. The organization added that the lack of information about his condition over the past two weeks has placed significant psychological pressure on his family and the media community.


AMSO also stated that, concurrent with Ghafoori's arrest, the Taliban are attempting to halt the broadcasts of Radio "Ettehad." According to statistics from this organization, with his imprisonment, the number of detained journalists and media workers in the country has risen to six; a matter that, according to this body, indicates an intensification of threats against freedom of expression and media activities in Afghanistan.


This organization has described the effort to shut down Radio "Ettehad" as part of a process of "systematic silencing of independent voices" and emphasized that media outlets are not tools of political pressure, but rather play an important oversight role in society.


In conclusion, AMSO has called on Taliban officials to unconditionally release Farhad Ghafoori and other detained journalists. It has also urged the United Nations, international organizations, and advocates for freedom of expression to take serious actions to ensure the safety of journalists and protect their rights in Afghanistan.

Local sources say that Farhad Ghafoori, the person in charge of Radio "Ettehad" in Logar province, was arrested by the Taliban about two weeks ago and is still in prison. His relatives expressed concern on Tuesday in conversations with media outlets that he faces the risk of mistreatment and violence in the Taliban's detention facility.
