More than 88,000 Afghan refugees have been repatriated from Iran in one week

The International Organization for Migration reported on (Friday, 6th of Saratan) that 55 percent of the returnees in the past week were forcibly deported, with 64 percent of them being families.


According to this report, these undocumented Afghan migrants were deported from Iran between 29 Jowza and 4 Saratan. According to the International Organization for Migration, only 11 percent of these individuals received assistance.


The organization emphasized that there is an urgent need for financial resources to address protective and humanitarian needs.


The report also noted an increase in the mass deportation of Afghan migrants, stating that the number of returnees in the same period the previous week, from 22 to 28 Jowza, reached 32,844 individuals.


The International Organization for Migration stated that it is expected that in 2025, approximately two million people will return from Iran and more than one million six hundred thousand other migrants from Pakistan to the country.

The International Organization for Migration has reported that in the past week, more than 88,308 Afghan migrant citizens have been deported from Iran to Afghanistan.
