Reliable sources: Taliban in the north ordered their forces to be on alert

Ataullah Zaid, spokesperson for the Taliban's governor in Balkh, stated on Saturday, 1st of Miizan, that this meeting took place on Friday night in the provincial governor's building. According to him, Yusuf Wafa invited a number of former military personnel and Taliban unit commanders to this meeting and issued orders for military readiness.


Ghawsuddin Rahbar, deputy commander of the Taliban's Central Corps, was also present at this meeting. Yusuf Wafa is one of the individuals close to Hibatullah Akhundzada, the leader of the Taliban, and is responsible for commanding the provinces of the northern zone.


Wafa has asked Taliban military officials and fighters to remain vigilant against potential security developments and, using the available weapons and equipment, to be prepared to counter any possible threat. The spokesperson for the Balkh governor says that the commanders present at the meeting also pledged to once again sacrifice for the preservation of the Taliban regime and to provide a decisive response to any armed action.


This meeting took place amid reports in recent weeks of increased activity by anti-Taliban fronts in a number of northern provinces of Afghanistan.



The Taliban's governor in Balkh has, in a meeting with the commanders and military officials of this group in northern Afghanistan, urged them to remain in a state of complete readiness to counter potential threats.
