German Foreign Minister Calls for Iran to Immediately Open the Strait of Hormuz

Wadephul announced in a message on X on Sunday that in his conversation with his Iranian counterpart, he had emphasized Germany's support for negotiation-based solutions.


He added that Germany, as a close ally of the United States, pursues common goals with Washington. According to him, Iran must completely and verifiably forgo nuclear weapons and reopen the Strait of Hormuz without delay.


Germany's Foreign Minister also noted that this demand aligns with the positions of Marco Rubio as well.

Johann Wadephul, Germany's Foreign Minister, in a phone call with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi, demanded the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and the complete and verifiable abandonment of Iran's nuclear weapons program.
