Taliban confirms its fighters beat up children in Kandahar

The Taliban stated in a press release on Tuesday, October 7 (7th of Aqrab), that the case of these two individuals has been handed over to the court for judicial proceedings, and they must be held accountable through legal channels for the charges brought against them.


This action comes after the release of a video on social media showing two armed individuals stopping at least 12 children on the Spin Boldak–Chaman route and subjecting them to severe beatings with sticks.


According to the information released, these children had been accused by Taliban members of illegally transporting goods along this route or being involved in the transfer and smuggling of goods.


The publication of images of this incident on social media has been met with widespread reactions from users. A number of users have described the armed Taliban individuals' behavior toward the children as inhumane and have protested their manner of handling the situation.


The Taliban has stated that the two detained members will be dealt with under judicial procedures for the charges against them.



The Taliban police command in Kandahar has announced that two members of the group have been arrested following the beating and torture of several children in the Spin Boldak district.
