Hamdollah Mohib Company's first satellite launched into space

The company stated on Friday that the Al-Tayer-1 satellite was launched as part of SpaceX's Transporter-18 rideshare mission from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. After the launch, the satellite's signal was received, and its status was reported as normal.

Al-Tayer-1 is equipped with five sensors used to collect imagery data, thermal data, various light spectra, and radio waves. According to OrbitWorks, NVIDIA chips process the collected data in just a few minutes, and the satellite is currently in the commissioning and initial testing phase.

OrbitWorks has announced that upon completion of this constellation in 2027, its satellites will be capable of imaging virtually any point on Earth every four hours. This technology is designed for applications including disaster management, maritime surveillance, environmental protection, food security, infrastructure assessment, and security operations.

Hamdullah Mohib, CEO of OrbitWorks and Marlan Space, said that just two years ago, the company was merely an idea; but now, a satellite built in Abu Dhabi is in Earth orbit. Mohib, who moved to the UAE after the fall of Afghanistan's previous government, holds a degree in computer engineering and a PhD in computer systems engineering from Brunel University. The UAE had previously set a target to rank among the world's top 10 space economies by 2031.

OrbitWorks, managed by Hamdullah Mohib, former national security advisor of Afghanistan, has announced that the first commercially built satellite in the United Arab Emirates has been successfully launched into Earth orbit.
