Pakistan: 28 killed in attack on suicide bombers' camp in Afghanistan

According to the ministry, these strikes targeted three positions belonging to the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and groups affiliated with it. Pakistani officials stated that several of those killed were individuals who were being trained for suicide bombings.


Pakistan's Ministry of Information added that one of the targets was a training center for suicide bombers, and a large quantity of weapons and ammunition was also destroyed in these strikes. According to the ministry, the airstrikes followed a ground operation based on intelligence information in the Kohat, Hangu, and Thall areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.


The ministry also stated that in a ground operation on September 20 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 9 members of a group that Pakistani officials call "Fitna al-Khawarij" were killed, and several others were wounded. Pakistan refers to the TTP and groups associated with it by this term.


On the other hand, the Afghan Taliban stated that Pakistan's airstrikes in Kunar Province resulted in the deaths of three civilians and injuries to four others. However, Pakistan's Ministry of Information claimed that these strikes were carried out precisely and that necessary measures had been taken to prevent collateral damage and casualties.


Pakistan's Ministry of Information described Afghanistan as a "hub of terrorism" and claimed that security threats against the country originate from Afghan soil. The ministry stated that counterterrorism operations under the name "Ghaibat al-Haqq" would continue within the framework of the "Azm-e-Istihkam" program. These strikes came after Pakistan had warned of targeting armed groups' positions inside Afghanistan following two recent deadly attacks against its security forces near the border.



Pakistan's Ministry of Information and Media announced on Monday, September 30, that 28 militants were killed in airstrikes by the country's army in Afghanistan's border regions.
