Halush: An Afghan citizen was among five Fatemiyoun members killed in Zahedan

According to Halvoch Somay, the identities of the other four Fatemiyoun members killed in this incident have not yet been determined. The organization reported on Friday, October 1st, that at least five Fatemiyoun members were targeted and killed by armed individuals while patrolling in a vehicle along the route to the Kalah Padah area in Zahedan's Rudmahi district.

Iranian official media have also confirmed the occurrence of this attack and the killing of at least one "fighter"; however, they have not released further details regarding the identity of the deceased or his organizational affiliation. To date, no group has claimed responsibility for this attack, and officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran have not provided information about the perpetrators of the incident.

This incident marks the second reported attack against Fatemiyoun members in Zahedan's Rudmahi district in less than a month. According to Halvoch Somay's report, on September 11th as well, at least four members of this group were shot at by armed individuals during a patrol in the same area and lost their lives.

In recent weeks, reports have surfaced regarding the presence of members of the Fatemiyoun and Zainebiyoun Brigades in some areas of Sistan and Baluchestan. Despite these reports, Iranian officials have not yet provided official information regarding the number of these forces, their mission, or the reason for their presence in this border region.

The human rights organization Halvoch Somay announced on Saturday that among the five members of the Fatemiyoun Brigade killed a few days ago in an attack by unidentified armed individuals near Zahedan, there was also an Afghan citizen. The organization identified this individual as Ahmad Yaqubi and stated that his name had been published in channels affiliated with Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
