Traffic accident in Takhar leaves eight dead

This incident occurred on Tuesday night in the Gazistan area of Kalafgan district, and the wounded have been transferred to a hospital for treatment.


The Bakhtar News Agency, under Taliban control, reported, citing local officials, that a Hino-type cargo truck overturned after veering off the road.


Traffic accidents in Afghanistan claim the lives of a large number of citizens every year, and factors such as driver negligence, speeding, poor road conditions and narrowness, and the lack of traffic signs are considered contributing causes.


Additionally, the use of cargo trucks to transport passengers on difficult routes and in remote districts has previously led to deadly accidents and heavy casualties.



The Taliban police command in Takhar says that following a traffic incident in this province, at least eight people have been killed and four others wounded.
