The Taliban leader says that intelligence is the backbone of the group's regime.

He also emphasized the necessity of this agency's cooperation with other sectors to implement Sharia and preserve religious rituals.
Zabihullah Mujahid, the Taliban's spokesperson, announced in a statement on Saturday that the Taliban leader advised intelligence forces to treat people with compassion, refrain from detaining individuals based on suspicion, safeguard secrets, and remain steadfast in implementing Sharia.
While the Taliban speaks of "humane behavior," numerous reports have surfaced regarding human rights violations by this group's intelligence agency. The agency is accused of arbitrary detentions, torturing prisoners, and even the deaths of some individuals in detention centers.
Richard Bennett, the UN Special Rapporteur, reported last year on sexual violence against female prisoners. Additionally, Morteza Behboudi, an Afghan-French journalist, stated after seven months of detention by the Taliban that during his imprisonment in the group's prison, his teeth were pulled out and he was tortured with electric shocks.
Hibatullah Akhundzada, the leader of the Taliban, in a recent meeting in Kandahar, described the intelligence agency as the backbone of the group's regime and urged its operatives to neutralize the "destructive plans of the enemy."
