Javad Mohseni: The director and employee of Tamadon TV are still in Taliban custody

Mr. Mohseni stated on Saturday, the sixth of Saratan [May 27, 2023], that these two individuals are being held in solitary confinement without the presentation of an official court order and without any specific charges being announced. Mohseni has called on the responsible authorities to provide for their release as soon as possible.


According to the head of this media outlet, Mohammad Rahmati's health condition is concerning, and his continued detention is incompatible with his physical state. He has also emphasized that in the event of any problems arising for Rahmati, responsibility will directly fall on the authority that issued the detention order.


Meanwhile, reports have surfaced of the transfer of Tamadon TV's equipment by unidentified individuals. Additionally, in recent days, Taliban forces raided the media outlet's office in Kabul and halted its broadcasts. It is said that some of the network's assets have also been seized.


On another note, the Taliban has also shut down the "Khatam al-Nabiyyin" school and mosque, with officials from the group claiming that the building of this center is "usurped."


To date, the Taliban has provided no explanation regarding the reason for the detention of these two media employees or any potential charges against them.
