Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce: More than 2,000 containers of Afghan traders stopped at Pak ports

Khan Jan Alokozai, a senior member of the chamber, stated in an interview with Taliban-controlled national television that approximately 150 containers are stuck at the Atari-Wagah port, and about two thousand more containers are stranded at the Karachi port.
According to him, Pakistan is not allowing the transit of Indian goods destined for Afghanistan, which has disrupted the transit process.
Mr. Alokozai noted that the halt in exports and imports through these routes, particularly the export of Afghan dried fruits to India, has posed significant challenges for traders and will also impact the domestic market of the country.
The Chamber of Commerce emphasized that if this issue is not resolved soon, the economic losses for Afghan traders will increase, and urgent solutions to resume transit through alternative routes must be explored.
The Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment has announced that due to escalating political tensions between India and Pakistan, more than two thousand containers belonging to Afghan traders have been stranded at the Wagah and Karachi ports. The chamber has warned that the continuation of this situation will lead to severe economic losses for Afghanistan.
