Taliban Spokesperson: International Criminal Court Decision Doesn't Matter to Us

Mujahid stated in a statement that the Taliban leaders have not committed any action that would make them deserving of arrest or punishment by a court. He added that the Taliban holds itself accountable to the rulings of Islamic Sharia and the courts related to it, and not to entities that, as he said, have an intelligence nature or are "so-called international courts."

The Taliban spokesman also called on the International Criminal Court not to exceed its jurisdiction and judicial scope in its activities.

The Taliban had previously rejected the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court to address cases related to Afghanistan.

A section of the Taliban statement states that this group condemns the court's position on the arrest of Afghan leaders and that Afghanistan recognizes no entity under the title of "international court."

The statement also emphasizes that, from the perspective of this group, the Taliban leaders have not committed any action that would justify their arrest or punishment. The Taliban has also called on international institutions not to raise claims outside their jurisdiction and judicial scope in order to preserve their credibility.

Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman for the Taliban, in response to the public disclosure of arrest warrants for two ministers of this group by the International Criminal Court, stated that the Taliban does not recognize this court and does not consider its decisions and rulings valid.
