Zalala Hashemi: I left Afghanistan safely and personally

Zalala Hashemi's family announced her disappearance in the month of Jowza. Her husband, Sayed Mohsen Hashemi, had said that Zalala had left home to visit friends and that there had been no news of her since, with her phones also turned off. He later fell silent on the matter.

Zalala Hashemi contacted Ariana Saied, the singer and women's rights activist, on Wednesday and confirmed her departure from Afghanistan. According to her, the decision to leave the country was "personal" and no specific individual or entity was involved in the process. She also refrained from explaining her disappearance.

In an interview with the BBC, the singer stated that over the past six years she has faced many problems and has been waiting for an opportunity to leave Afghanistan so she could continue her artistic activities; however, she provided no further explanation on this.

Previously, Ariana Saied had claimed that Zalala Hashemi had fled home due to domestic violence and that her husband had raised the issue of her disappearance by spreading false information.

Zalala Hashemi, the young Afghan singer, has announced that she is safe and has left Afghanistan after months of rumors and uncertainty about her fate. She stated that after months of hardship, she has finally managed to leave the country; however, she provided no further details.
