UN: Nearly 16 million Afghans will face crisis and food insecurity in 2024.

The Humanitarian Coordinator for Afghanistan says on Thursday that average life expectancy in Afghanistan has declined in the past five years, according to a Globe poll on Thursday.

According to this assessment, 95 percent of people in Afghanistan describe their lives as "painful."


In his statement, the deputy head of the United Nations Political Assistance Office in Afghanistan called the Herat earthquakes and the return of migrants from neighboring countries as factors in the increasing humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan and stressed the need for sustained international participation and support.

The United Nations estimates that about 15.8 million Afghans will face crisis and food insecurity in 2024.
