Today (Saturday, 13 Aqrab), Hassan Kazemi Qomi, Iran's special representative for Afghanistan affairs, met and conferred with Mullah Ghani Baradar, the Taliban group's economic deputy.The goal of this meeting, according to Deputy Press Secretary Hassan Kazemi Qomi, was to discuss commercial and economic cooperation, the development of bilateral relations, transit, investment, and customs cooperation with the economic officials of the Islamic Republic. The meeting was also held with Mullah Baradar and his accompanying delegation. Leading a delegation, Mullah Ghani Baradar departed for Tehran on Saturday.This is true even though Tehran maintains tight ties with the Taliban organization and has given them control of the Afghan embassy in Iran.
