Pakistan has about 1,000 intelligence officers in Afghan institutions

Amrullah Saleh, the former deputy of the fugitive president Ashraf Ghani, says that Pakistan currently has 1,000 (secret) intelligence officers in Afghanistan, of which about 300 are stationed in the Pakistani embassy and consular departments in the country's provinces.Mr. Saleh considers the verbal tensions between Islamabad and the Taliban group to be media propaganda and adds that the Taliban are Pakistan's proxy group in Afghanistan.

Pakistan has decided to expel undocumented Afghan immigrants from Pakistan, but officials of the Taliban group consider this decision of Pakistan to be against international law.
