Taliban releases over 2,170 prisoners on Eid al-Adha

The Taliban released more than 2,170 prisoners from their prisons in different provinces on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.


The group said in a statement that this was based on the order of Mullah Hebatullah Amir al-Momineen.


Additionally, more than 400 other prisoners received a reduction in their sentences.

However, experts say that the Taliban has killed hundreds of people without a court order and arrested thousands of people only for the crime of their language and location.
