Rising rates of female suicide in Afghanistan

Reports state that since the Taliban has taken control of the nation and females have been prohibited from attending school for longer than two years, the number of suicides among Afghan girls has increased.According to CNN, which cited Afghan physicians, the number of female suicides has surged since the Taliban took power on Tuesday, August 28.The media story does not provide figures on female suicides; however, the girls who took their own lives said that the schooling prohibition was the sole cause.This is true even though female students and girls above the sixth grade are prohibited from attending schools and institutions due to the Taliban group's domination in Afghanistan.
