Persian is one of the oldest languages spoken in India

According to India's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Subramaniam Jaishankar, the Persian language would be formally included to the nation's list of official ancient languages.During his visit to Tehran, Mr. Jaishenkar made an announcement at a press conference today, Monday, January 26, that the Indian government has chosen to incorporate Persian into its new education program, which also includes the nine ancient Indian languages.Speaking people in Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Turkmenistan, and Azerbaijan are speakers of Farsi, also known as Persian, one of the western Iranian languages of the Iranian subgroup of the Indo-Iranian branch of the Indo-European language family.
