Taliban Repeatedly Disobeyed Their Leader's Orders: Institute for War Studies

The Institute for the Study of War released a new investigative report on how the Taliban is governed in Afghanistan on Friday.

The investigative report said the Taliban leader and senior officials of the group disagreed about cultural and social policies.

The most significant disagreement over the ban on girls' education is that members of the Taliban cabinet have repeatedly clearly reacted to the group's leadership decisions in public speeches. Mullah Yaqub, Serajuddin Haqqani and Abbas Stanekzai are among the officials who have so far criticized Haibatullah Akhundzada's policies in public speeches.


Taliban officials have sent their daughters to secret schools for training by defying the order of Haibatullah Akhundzada, a report from the Institute for War Studies said.

Akhundzada issued numerous decrees calling polygamy "unnecessary and extravagant" and banned, however, "many Taliban commanders have continued to marry despite Akhundzada's order."

In addition, Taliban fighters have continued to extrapoena extrajudicial killings of former Afghan government employees, in violation of the group's leader's promise of amnesty.

In addition to these cases, the report states that Taliban officials have ignored Commander Haibatullah Akhundzada's decision to ban kinship and corruption by designating their relatives and relatives in government seats.
