Taleban: Media is free in Afghanistan

Abdulsalam Hanafi, the administrative deputy of the head of the Taliban's vice-ministers, says that the media have freedom in Afghanistan, but on the condition that they respect the national and Islamic interests.

This Taliban official has expressed his opinion about freedom of expression in Afghanistan after internal and external criticism.

Hanafi said some time ago that no media has the right to broadcast against national and Islamic values.

A number of organizations that support free media and support journalists say that freedom of expression has died under Taliban rule, and most media outlets are not independent in providing information, and all domestic media publications are controlled by Taliban.
